Driver Quotes for Round 7

Christopher Mies (#26 Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS) - winner
"This is a wonderful result for us though my start was not one of my best this year, but I held my place and then I had the chance to overtake Walter Salles for second after a few laps. I was much faster than Accary in the Aston Martin but he was so fast on the straights so I didn't have a chance to overtake and we had to wait until the pitstops. The car was really good, the team did a good job, and Christopher (Haase) also, and the car was consistant over the whole distance and I'm really glad to be back in the championship.

Christopher Haase (#26 Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS) - winner
"The team informed me that the Aston Martin was stuck in the pitlane and for us this was very good.  It wasn't easy having such a big lead but today we had really good pace, our car was unbelievable, the team has done a great job and I'm really happy with this first win in FIA GT3."

Christoffer Nygaard (#28 Fischer Racing Ford GT) - 2nd Place
"I had a terrible start, I lost two places I think and then I was stuck behind the Lamborghini.  I had more pace than the cars in front of me and I had to fight with these cars to get past.  I think the two guys at the front, Accary and Mies, were doing really well but I was able to catch up with the Ferrari and left the car for Florian (Gruber) in 4th place."

Florian Gruber (#28 Fischer Racing Ford GT) - 2nd Place
"It was a perfect race for us, well not perfect, we didn't win! Christoffer (Nygaard) gave me the car in 4th place and I overtook the Ferrari and the Ford GT, they had some problems with the brakes and oversteering while my car was still pretty good. I saw the Corvette in my mirrors but I had the speed to keep my position at the end of the race."

Luca Pirri (#17 Marc Sourd Racing Corvette Z06R GT3) - 3rd Place
"When you consider we started last as I didn't do the qualifying, I took the car from last to 11th to give to Diego (Alessi), which I am very pleased about.  It has been a difficult season because the balance of performance for the car has given us no chance.  This is more of a drivers track and we tried to make it a little bit different and it paid off. Our car has new tyres from the beginning, helped with the performance and Diego did an amazing job."

Diego Alessi (#17 Marc Sourd Racing Corvette Z06R GT3) - 3rd Place
"Today we are very happy as we have taken the best result with the car.  I enjoyed the race, I had a great battle with Thomas Mutsch and Cesar Campanico.  Our car is very consistent at the end of the race because of the hard tyres.  I think this is the ideal track for us but while we are happy with this result today we are also sad because it is too late for us to fight for the championship. We will now try to do our best for the last few races."
